What we don't record — and the one exception.
A short page, on purpose. This is our logging policy in plain language.
During normal use: nothing
When you connect to SOSO and use the internet normally, we do not log any records related to you. Specifically, we do not keep:
- Your browsing activity, the sites you visit, or the apps you use through the tunnel
- Any record linking a connection to your identity — there are no accounts, so no identity exists on our side to begin with
The one exception: opt-in failure reports
If a connection fails and you actively tap the feedback button in the app, we collect the necessary connection-failure log for that event. This is entirely user-initiated — nothing is sent automatically.
- What it's for: our engineers use failure logs only to improve VPN connection success rates.
- Who sees it: it is not shared with any individual or organization.
What about ads?
SOSO is ad-supported. Advertising is served by third-party networks inside the app and is separate from the VPN tunnel — ad partners never see your browsing traffic. How ad networks handle device data is covered in our Privacy Policy.
